University of Namur – Vauban Amphitheatre

At the heart of the campus of the University of Namur, the Vauban Amphitheatre project forms part of a broader initiative to modernize the university’s academic infrastructure. The intervention led to the construction of a large-capacity auditorium designed to host lectures, conferences, and institutional events.

With its 751 tiered seats, the amphitheatre is one of the largest teaching spaces within the university. Its design was carefully developed to ensure optimal visibility and acoustic comfort suited to large audiences, thereby providing high-quality conditions for learning and presentations.

The project incorporates advanced technical installations, particularly in audiovisual systems (projection, recording and broadcasting), sound reinforcement, stage lighting, and ventilation. The entire facility meets current standards in terms of comfort, safety, and crowd management for a building welcoming a large audience.

Located within a dense urban environment, the amphitheatre integrates harmoniously into the existing campus while strengthening the attractiveness of the University of Namur.

Versatile in its use, it now serves as a central venue not only for teaching but also for conferences, ceremonies, and academic events.
