University of Namur – Science Building
Construction of a modern and multidisciplinary science hub.
As part of the development of its infrastructure, the University of Namur undertook the complete reconstruction of its Science Building.
This new academic hub was designed to meet the contemporary requirements of higher education and scientific research.
Covering nearly 10,000 m² and developed over several levels (basements, ground floor and upper floors), the building brings together a wide range of educational and scientific facilities. It includes lecture rooms, practical work areas, academic offices as well as specialised research laboratories, notably for materials analysis, optics and geology.
The complex is complemented by an auditorium with approximately 480 seats and flexible spaces designed to adapt to the evolution of scientific practices and the integration of new teaching technologies.
Designed as a true place of interaction, the building encourages synergies between the different departments – mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography and geology – by bringing their infrastructures together within a single coherent and functional facility.
