Dock World Wailibi

New themed area: a triple launch coaster

This new area is home to a thrilling roller coaster, propelled by three successive magnetic launches. Speed and acceleration are guaranteed: the attraction reaches 65 km/h, crosses three imposing hills peaking between 14 and 15 metres, and unfolds over a track length of 925 metres.

The realisation of this project represented a considerable technical challenge. The construction site began with the complete draining of the existing pond, made possible thanks to the installation of two high-capacity pumps and a network of ten sump pumps, guaranteeing perfectly dry foundations throughout the works. The pond was then dredged, and equipped with special tracks allowing construction machinery and the pile-driving machine to move despite the unstable nature of the ground.

The foundations of the attraction rest on 460 deep piles, supplemented by 36 micropiles inclined at 45° in the Tiki-Winki area, inaccessible to the standard pile-driving machine due to its size. In total, 1,400 m³ of concrete were poured to ensure the stability of the structure.
The project also required the complete reinforcement of the bridge used for the transport of exceptional convoys: the old structure was dismantled and replaced with new abutments, a new network of steel beams, and precast slabs finished in brushed concrete.
