Dherte opens the doors of its Silos de l’Escaut construction site to the talents of tomorrow.
Last Thursday, Dherte welcomed jobseekers to its Silos de l’Escaut construction site in Tournai as part of the “Construis ton avenir” initiative, led by Embuild Wallonie together with Constructiv, Le Forem and IFAPME.
During this visit, two groups of participants discovered the operational reality of a large-scale construction site and the wide range of trades involved:

🔹 Building services
🔹 Site management
🔹 Safety and environment
The setting was particularly telling: on the Silos de l’Escaut project, Dherte acts as both Project Owner and developer. This future residential complex of 75 apartments spread across four blocks showcases the iconic elements of the site’s industrial past.
Discussions with our teams gave participants a concrete understanding of the requirements behind a site’s performance: quality of execution, safety management and respect for the environment.
Given the sector’s recruitment challenges, Dherte is convinced that knowledge transfer happens in the field. Opening up our sites means sharing our expertise, making our trades visible and helping to develop the skills the construction industry will need tomorrow.
